Anylogistix

Alex Franco:

Director of AnyLogistix, Supply Chain Strategy, and Head Trainer for AnyLogistix in North America. Alex has 20 years of experience in the Supply Chain industry serving the Retail/Pharma, Telecom, Consulting, and E-commerce sectors. His focus has been on optimization, simulation, and technology to solve today’s supply chain business challenges. He currently coaches and advises several top fortune 500 companies and firms.

Case Study Summary:

In a world of uncertainty, disruptions, shortages, events, and volatile issues, we are learning to find a way to be agile, effective, and efficient when it comes to making decisions. The workshop will take you on the journey in Network design to review how components like Greenfield Analysis, Network Optimization, and Simulation take front center stage in the customer experience and how the inside 4 walls can truly make an impact on the overall supply chain. We will also go over how a digital twin Supply Chain strategy will the future on how companies will reach supply chain excellence at the strategic level.

Anylogic

Simulation Consultant, Industrial and Systems Engineer, and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certified. Roberto has experience in simulation, healthcare, manufacturing, and oil and gas industries serving as a bridge between engineering and management by linking people, technology, and business to solve problems with modern technology. His focus has been on simulation, optimization, data science, and machine learning to improve, optimize and innovate systematic processes. He currently works as a simulation modeler in multiple projects for top Fortune 500 companies and firms.

Case Study Summary:

Operating a quick-service restaurant (QSR) is not a simple process. Many stochastic variables are interacting with one another dynamically (e.g., customer arrival patterns, product mix, channel mix, deployment of employees, processing times, store layout, resources, etc.). Quantifying the gain of change to the configuration of a store is difficult without testing it in a real-life simulation. Making such tests in real life is costly and may lead to undesirable results. Dynamic simulation solves this issue by testing improvement in a risk-free digital environment.

This case study aimed to build a simulation model that represented the operations of a QSR store and optimize it to minimize the cost to achieve service level, increase the transaction rate, increase the number of optimized design options to pursue in the market, reduce wasted movement of employees to optimize the kitchen layout, equipment place and labor allocation, and to increase the speed of service.

SAS Workshop

Rachel Nisbet:

Rachel holds a B.S. in Mathematics and both a B.S. and M.Ed. in Mathematics Education from North Carolina State University. She began her work with SAS in May 2016 as an intern, where she assisted with development of technical support documentation, marketing material, and K-12 learning software. During Fall 2019, Rachel completed SAS’ Technical Enablement Academy, where she spent 17 weeks learning numerous SAS technologies from development to deployment to administration. In her new role with the SAS Global Academic Program, she assists in the creation of diverse learning materials engaging academics with SAS software and a technical trainer, specializing in Base SAS programming, Visual Analytics, and Python integration.

Case Study Summary:

Participants are introduced to SAS Visual Analytics and how it is leveraged to create interactive dashboards. Participants are shown how to use the visual interface to prepare data, analyze data and design reports. Topics covered include how to access and investigate data, prepare data for analysis, perform data discovery and analysis, and create interactive reports.

Case Study Summary:

Artificial intelligence has taken a fundamental role these days, and if it is not applied or accompanied by products and services based on advanced technology, its impact will be short. For AI in service robotics, machine learning and deep learning can provide many capabilities that help robots interact with humans easily and better understand their environment.
Through this session, we will learn how artificial intelligence works in conjunction with humanoid and service robotics by helping to orchestrate a series of AI-based products and services. In this workshop, attendees will witness how humanoid robots can be used in the service industry.
